About

Who We Are

WE’RE A TEAM OF ENTREPRENEURS, CREATIVES AND ENTHUSIASTS, STRIVING TO MAKE QUALITY JAPANESE GOODS ACCESSIBLE TO THE WORLD.

Shouldn’t choosing sake be as easy as choosing your favorite bottle of wine? We noticed lots of people, even the savviest drinkers, have trouble when it comes to choosing sake—pacing in front of the sake shelves or blankly scanning up and down the sake list at a restaurant to no avail. We think the act of choosing sake should be easy and fun. That's why we created Takasan, a platform designed for the modern drinker. We curate the best products from Japan with a team of experts to make your sake experience effortless. Takasan will ship directly to your door, whether for your casual dinner after a long day’s work or a celebratory party. Name the occasion, and we will find the perfect bottle for you.

As a team of Asian Americans rooted in Japanese culture with backgrounds spanning many different industries, we brought together the best of what we know to create a channel that allows us to share the best of Japanese craftsmanship with you. The history, their story and what’s to come.

Core Value

Omotenashi

Omotenashi is the foundation of Takasan. This Japanese word translates to English as "hospitality" but means so much more. Omotenashi is the idea of caring for guests with personal warmth and meticulous attention to detail.

At Takasan, guests can shop with ease in an experience that was designed and curated for you - the modern drinker.

Our Mission

To empower and showcase Japanese craftsmanship by creating a seamless experience that makes their quality products accessible to all.

Our Vision

We hope to grow this space to become the largest online platform that serves as the hub for curated Japanese goods and to close the gap between Japanese culture and the rest of the world.

Our Founder

As a Japanese American, Taka strives to bring his perspective of authentic Japanese culture and craftsmanship to a larger audience. He is proud to be able to support the makers and masters of Japan by giving them a platform to share their story.
